Yes: Aquatic therapy is an excellent adjunct modality for treatment of various pain disorders. By using the buoyancy of water, there is substantially less pressure on the joints while the muscles can be conditioned at a higher level. It is also a very effective starting treatment in very painful situations before formal land based therapy begins.
