Im 21 started having heavy periods & ceased after having norgest.the u/s scan showed a cystic lesion 4.8*4.5 cm in r .adnexa. does it require surgery?

Maybe: It will depend on the nature of the cyst. If it is a simple cyst with no signs of vascularity you can continue the bcp for a couple of months and repeat the scan. Most functional cysts will resolve. However if the cyst is there while you have been on bcps already you may need laparoscopic surgery. You should discuss this with your gyn.
