Consultation : I suspect you have discussed this with many physicians. If the bulk of your pain is neuropathic, medications like gabapentin, or lyrics may help. A decision between your neurosurgeon, your neurologist and pain specialist should help develop a program. You have a difficult problem and this type of consultation is your best bet.

Aquatherapy: Some of my patients with arachnoiditis have benefited from aqua therapy / swimming. Ask your doctor if this activity would be beneficial for you.

Not uncommon: This is indeed a challenge for pain management, but may respond to variety of meds, but also consider acupuncture, biofeedback/relaxation therapies, and also, periodic hot tubs. Swimming least offending exercise. In some cases, have seen pain stimulators inserted. Contact physiatrist who specializes in pain management and try some of these approaches.
