Yes: Talk with your doctor about the right timing. Pregnant women are known to be more susceptible to adverse effects of the influenza virus. There also may be passive immunity to the newborn baby when the mother has received the flu vaccine diluting her pregnancy as well.

Yes: And it is recommended to do so, and to receive a tdap vaccine as well. The tdap is for pertussis, whooping cough, prevention.

Recommended: All pregnant women should get a flu shot. In pregnancy you'll receive an inactivated trivalent strain (dead virus) that still protects you from swine flu & 2 other strains felt to be endemic this year. Avoid live virus (nasal spray) & remember to also update your pertussis vaccine. Take care.
