Time and bleaching: It can take a few months for skin to lighten after tanning or hyperpigmentation. That being said, adding a topical bleaching cream like hydroquinone may speed up the lightening process. That being said, wearing sunscreen and avoiding any uv exposure is recommended.

Stop exposure!: Those products will not lighten darkened skin. Zinc oxide will protect your skin but won't lighten it .Your skin should lighten in time if it has no more exposure. If it doesn't lighten you can use a skin bleaching regimen.
