I have spina bifida & am in a wheelchair & ever since tuesday (its now thursday), my legs have been rather jumpy. what could be causing that?

Spasticity: In patients with some forms of spina bifida (around the L1 level and and above), spasticity can develop. Spasticity is when muscles rhythmically spasm after rapid movements, often affecting the ankles/calves (called clonus), or hips & thighs. If it is painful, permanently limiting joint motion, or is powerful enough to shift you in your chair, you should consider a prescription to calm it.

Spasticity: Leg spasticity can occur in spina bifida. Spasticity can be exacerbated by urinary tract infections, pressure sores, fractures, illness and stress.
