Different signs: Usually the dentist needs to tell you. Even if you have a graft it is possible that small particles of bone would escape the site and seem like failure. The dentist is the best one to answer this for you.

Raw, bleeding site: If a bone graft is not working it may present as raw, red or an open area. You may also have an infection in this site. Other symptoms to look for are: uneven or irregular jaw area, open wound or more. Please visit your surgeon for a check up on your particular case.. Take care.

Graft loss ; infect: A failed bone graft, may present as an infection at the surgical site, a loss of bone density, a migration of bone out of the site. If a sinus lift='chronic sinusitis boney particulate coming into mouth or out the nose and or oral fluids from mouth coming out nose. Additionally, a premature dental implant placement into an immature graft site may cause graft dislodgment and procedure failure.
