Is it possible for an aggressive liposuction procedure to break a rib?

Possibly: Liposction is a blunt technique performed with rigid metal cannulas. It is therefore possible for a rib to be broken or for deeper structures to be injured with liposuction. Fortunately, this is rare.

Not likely: Liposuction is removes fat in the layer between the skin and the muscle. The cannula should not cause trauma to the rib. Although possible, not likely in trained hands.

No: I have never heard of anyone breaking a rib from aggressive liposuction. Please make sure that you choose a reputable surgeon with a lot of experience. I would recommend a plastic surgeon certified by the american board of plastic surgery.

Possible.: One of the potential ( very rare) complications associated with liposuction surgery is injury to underlying structures. Careful selection of plastic surgeon and careful attention to detail during the procedure are key.
