Loss of motion: A tendon forms the link between a muscle and its insertion on a bone. When your brain sends a signal to a muscle, the muscle contracts and the appropriate joint moves. If a tendon is ruptured, the muscle movement cannot be translated to the the joint. This can happen most common after trauma and secondary to rheumatoid arthritis.
