May need drainage...: Clinda is good, but you may need to verify that you do not need a drainage procedure for the abscess. Drainage can help resolve an infection very quickly.

Yes indeed: Especially if you are allergic to penicillin. My antibiotic of choice for toothaches is however penicillin.
