Warm salt water: Rinse with warm salt water and see your surgeon to determine the source of irritation. Might be one of the sutures that he could easily remove.

Have surgeon post-op: Have surgeon check site for bone splinters or post-op infections. Some deep infections will be captured in closing socket following the extraction. Antibiotics may be needed. Bony pieces float out thru the gums near the surgical area like a splinter causing local irritations. These may fall out themselves or easily removed by the dentist. It would be a good idea to rinse with warm salt water.
