How to deal with anxiety related to alteration of visual acuity (cataract extraction)?

See below: For the short term your primary doc can offer treatments to reduce your anxiety - there are lots of options. Presumably the anxiety should resolve once the procedure is done and one is able to adapt. Your doc can provide referrals for a psychiatric eval if the anxiety remains persistent.
