When other ares are : Foot veins should be used for access only when other more appropriate ares have been nexhausted...This is due to a reported increased incidence of inflammation 9phlebitis0 in the routine use of the avenues.

Foot veins: Foot veins often times are large and when arm veins are small and cannot be used for venipuncture then foot veins can be used. This is not a common occurrence but foot veins do often as option when other veins are not available.
