Fairly brief: I have seen recovery of strength and sensation with lack of pain occur as early as 2 wks, but more often at about 4 weeks. If the central nerve axon was involved might take 2-3 months for all to fully recover, but commonly there is full recovery over a short time period.

Recovery after sx: It depends on the incision and the activity you want to do. Typically the wound fully heals by 6 weeks from surgery. Sensitivity may last a few weeks longer though.

Varies: The potential ius for a very fast recovery and return to activities after endoscopic carpal tunnel release surgery. I have performed the surgery on surgeons who returned to performing surgery in 3 days. This can vary depending on severity, pain tolerance and post-op swelling.

Days - weeks: The recovery period for the endoscopic carpal tunnel release is significantly shorter than the open procedure. My patients have a return to work in an average of 5 days. In general patients can return to light activity within days such as office work but those that require heavier lifting and more difficult manual labor would need several more days for recovery of strength.
