Possible: It is possible to develop an infection but as you described it is very un-likely.

Yes: Dry socket is truly a misnomer. Dry socket is generally pain associated with a tooth removal. It is usually associated with food and debris in the socket that is breaking down and forming an acid. The acid is what triggers the inflammation and pain. Therefore, you can have these symptoms even with a graft.
