Would it be possible to get dry socket after having a tooth extracted and bone grafting done?

Yes, but: Pretty rare. Symptoms of dry socket are pain that is not relieved with oral pain meds or wakes you up at night, pain radiating to the ear and a bad taste.

Yes.: Yes, dry socket is always a possibility when you have a tooth extracted. Bonegraft can always come out if not properly done and on top of this, if there's no clot in the socket, it's possible to get a dry socket.

Yes: Dry socket and infection are risks for any extraction. If you are having the socket grafted, you are probably at low risk for dry socket. Ask your dentist or surgeon if you are not sure.

Dry socket hurts!!: Dry socket feels like your head will explode. There is no dancing around it. What you have is probably normal postoperative discomfort. The risk of dry socket is low with grafting. If you have any doubts your dentist will be happy to take a quick look i'm sure.
