A member asked:

What is the time frame for an impacted tooth to be pulled up?

No general answer: It depends on the tooth, the nature of the impaction, and the age of the patient in addition to any obvious issues being exacerbated by the impaction. Impacted wisdom teeth are often suggested for removal in young adults because incomplete root formation and patient youth are favorable for reduced risk of complications. Often impacted teeth in adults are observed rather than pursued but not always.

Varies: Depends on the type of root structure (straight, curved, long, short, conical.) depends also on whether it is tilted into the adjacent 12 year molar and if it is tissue or boney impacted.

Depends: Most impacted teeth are 3rd molars or wisdom teeth, and rather than pulling them up (or down) is almost never an issue, as they are virtually all extracted. The most common tooth to impact that is brought into the mouth is the upper jaw canine. Time to do this depends on age, if root formation is complete, room to move, how far it must travel etc. Months to years. I would say: average 6-12 months.

Depends : The time required depends upon which tooth, how deeply impacted, etc. On average, an impacted maxillary permanent canine (eye tooth) requires from 18-24 months to direct into the arch form. My opinion is strictly based on clinical evaluation of this type of care in our practice. Seek the opinion of a licensed orthodontic speciality for their estimate.

Different: The most commonly impacted teeth are the wisdom teeth, and usually they are simply removed. Second most commonly impacted tooth is upper canine, and depending on position can take up to 18 months to orthodontically correct. At your age impacted tooth may be ankylosed (fused to the bone) and not recoverable.
