Position: Does your tooth hurt when you are not trying to sleep? Posture or position of the head, especially upper posterior teeth, can be affected most when lying down. If the tooth is infected, it could be affecting the sinus. There is another phenomena called pulp stones, that you can look up that can affect the tooth pain when lying down.

Relax...: As you relax for sleep, you can become more aware of tooth pain that is otherwise masked by the problems and stress of everyday life. Also, lying down causes more blood flow to your head, and may exacerbate dental pain. See a dentist and find out what's wrong.

Hurt when sleep: The since the head is more even with the heart, the blood pressure to the tooth is less affected by gravity, which means its higher, so everything is more sensitive. it also means, get to your dentist before it gets a whole lot worse.
