Prehistoric: Hyoscine is found naturally in the nightshade family of plants including belladonna, henbane, jimson weed, angel's trumpets, and corkwood. They drug was apparently used as an intoxicant in prehistoric times by aborigines, as a poison by romans, and for medicinal purposes as written in ebers papyrus in egypt, in 1550 b.C. The drug is now used as a dilating eye drop and for sea sickness (patch).
