Periods hurting: It may be more effective to first use a simple anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen or advil or aleve (naproxen). Cramping from menstruation is often very well treated with these simple and common pain medications.

Not sure it is : necessary.NSAID’s, OTC meds containing diuretics, warm bath, heating pad, exercise & acupuncture are excellent for dysmenorrhea. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol & salt. Sipping Chamomile can dissipate pain.
