May not be needed: Just because one has "flat feet" does not mean one must rush to the OR. Often orthotics help manage fatigue and minor pain. Reconstruction is an option for those with severe and limiting pain, but surgery is not without risks and requires careful and thoughtful consideration with the guidance of a surgeon.

Yes.: Extensive reconstructive surgery can correct the deformity. This may not however be your best option unless you have exhausted conservative measures. Surgical management can be considered as a last resort if you are having considerable pain not relieved attempted conservative measures. Have it evaluated and treated conservatively first.
