What does it mean when someone who has schizophrenia walks on their toes when they are stressed?

Unkown: I have never heard of that before. It certainly is not at all common. I suppose it would be best to have a doctor take a look at this.

Odd behaviors occur under stress in asperger's, schizotypal and schizoid personalities, schizophrenia and autism. Some scientists say that motor disorder is a core symptom. The other is a gait disturbance related to tardive dyskinesia, which is not caused by anxiety but can be worsened by it, as most motor disorders are.

Toe walking: Could be mannerisms or side-effect of antipsychotic medications. Check with his doc.
