A member asked:

Should i consider having a spinal fusion if i have been diagnosed with herniated disc, a disc with a tear and dds?

Maybe, maybe not: If you are having primarily leg pain from a low back disk herniation, simple removal without fusion is the better choice. If back pain is the main problem and all else fails, a fusion may help. If you have arm pain from a neck disk problem, fusion is often part of the operation.

Very complex questio: Complex and contrversial. Leg or back pain? Discogram? Fusion is too much surgery for the classic disc herniation causing leg pain.
