Bruise: Its just a bruise and will resolve in a week or so. Not uncommon especially in fair skinned individuals.

Normal Bruising: This is most likely just a little bit of bruising. While bruises are usually black/blue, sometimes they're a pale yellow. If the discoloration doesn't improve in a few days, get it checked. Skin bruises are common after tooth extractions.

Bruising is common: Sometimes there can be bruising on your cheek after an extraction. This is nothing to worry about and it will go away in about a week just like a bruise anywhere else. It is always best to call the dentist who removed your wisdom teeth and ask about this concern.

Oxidized bruise: After surgery, there is blood leakage around the site. You would call it a bruise. The blood, no longer in it's vessel is free to be oxidized by free oxygen. Bruises change color over time, as they are resorbed and oxidation changes the color. Purple>red>brown>green>yellow that is my "take" on the situation.

Resolving Bruise: With any surgical procedure there is some degree of bleeding. Although we do not like to see our patients return with black and blue bruises after surgery, some patients who have wisdom teeth removed may have bruising of the cheek and more commonly along the side of the lower jaw. The yellowish discoloration is the progression of the breakdown of the bruise.
