No Vitrectomy: I would advise most patients your age to wait out the floaters and avoid the vitrectomy. A vitrectomy removes the gel and floaters within that gel. It also removes one of the prime barriers to cataract formation. Vitrectomy is associated with increased cataract formation. Getting cataract surgery at your age is ill advised. No relationship between floaters and masturbaion.
