When should i start therapy for an upper limb amputee?

Right away: Pt should not be delayed. As soon as you had your amputation performed, physical therapy should commence right away, barring no complications after surgery or contraindications to physical therapy. Pt therapist will ensure your ability to participate in pt and will provide you with guided approach on it.

As soon as possible: Therapy is most successful if it starts as soon as possible. The surgeon who performed the amputation usually makes the determination as to when the limb has healed enough for the prosthetic to be fabricated and therapy to start.
