Bilateral lower limb edem noticed after steroid therapy, ejection fraction 70%, creatinine 0.8 s.albumin 4.5, if itis steroid induced how long ever could it last after cessation of steroids and how to treat,and recommend inv. to exclude other causes?

It may take a week to 10 days for the edema to resolve if the edema is caused by steroid tx. You can hasten the recovery if you restrict fluid and salt intake for 2-3 days. If edema persists or gets worse after 7 days, other causes should be ruled out such as illness which impedes blood return to the right ventricle. Normal EF does not rule out right ventricle problem.
