Toys and medicatons: Teething hurts you child and your ears. You can try pain medications like children's tylenol (acetaminophen) , ice chips, a soft clean chew toy. But don't use topical dental pain mess like oragel, they are not meant for infants.

Cold: Another thing i've found helpful is an ice cube in a sock. It gets cold to the area for awhile and the sock is protective against aspirating the ice cube.

Baby motrin: Baby tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin will usually do the trick. Avoid over the counter topical pain relievers containing Benzocaine because they are usually not too effective and have been linked to rare cases of methemoglobinemia. You can also try chilling a pacifier in the freezer and giving that to your child before bed. Good luck!
