Uncontrolled sz: Those with uncontrolled partial epilepsy should be evaluated for resective epilepsy. If not a candidate, those with uncontrolled seizures may consider vagus nerve stimulation (vns). Vns should be thought of as another anti seizure medication (aed). It rarely eliminates the need to take aeds. It is palliative, not curative.
