A member asked:

How long does gingivostomatitis usually last?

2-3 weeks: If the underlying cause is a viral infection, it will usually run its course in 2-3 weeks. If the cause is bacterial, it may persist until the source of the infection is addressed. If it has been longer than 3 weeks in duration, best to get it evaluated by a dentist.
