Depends: It depends on the type and location of the lesion. If treatment is indicated, sclerotherapy and/or embolization are usually the best approaches. This requires evaluation by an experienced physician; and what kind of physician depends on the location of the lesion.

Can be treated: I would recommend seeing a birthmark specialist. In general, those that occur in the head and neck region often require some form of treatment. Early intervention is often better, but each case must be treated individually, depending on location and rate of growth.
