Pain: Most people do not need more than a few days of Motrin (800mg 3x/day). If the pain is such that you cannot sleep then you need to see your dentist to be sure you have not lost the clot.

Pain Meds: Otc pain meds usually do the trick. Call your dentist for something stronger if you need it.

Depends: You may need antibiotics for an infection, pain meds for the pain, and possibly anti-inflammatories for inflammation. Normally antibiotics and nsaid's like advil (ibuprofen) will be enough to take care of everything.

Normally NSAIDs: Nsaids are usually enough (motrin/advil). Your dentist can give you something stronger fi you need. It is very important if you are a smoker to stop at least until the socket heals.
