Aircast ankle brace: An aircast ankle brace is sometimes used to treat ankle sprains. The brace can be worn inside athletic shoes, and helps prevent the ankle from inverting or everting (keeps the ankle straighter) while a person is walking or running. Most mild ankle sprains get well without using any special ankle braces.

SCD: Sounds like you are talking about a sequential compression device which goes around your calf and thigh and squeezes the leg intermittently. We use this to prevent clots from forming after surgery and also use it for people who have excess fluid in their legs and need to decrease this fluid.
