Weight gain: How much weight have you gained in what period of time? Do you eat/drink junk food/pop frequently? Is there family history of underactive thyroid or diabetes. Have you been on steroids for medical condition. Advise seeing pcp for thorough history & physical to determine if there's medical cause. Doc can give weight loss advice in addition to any needed treatment.

Lifestyle and Diet: The most effective diet per my experience treating over 1000 obese individuals is a low carbohydrate ketogenic (fat burning) diet meaning your meals will be mostly lean protein and very little carbohydrates (from fruits and veggies) and plant and fish based fat sources. You need to keep the carbohydrates below 40 grams/day. Also exercise (yoga, interval training, walking, running) would help.

Weight loss program: In this day and age it is a blessing the different options to help you lose weight, there has been enough research to give you alternatives; of the ones that patients can do on their owm weight watchers is one of the best, or a medically supervised weight loss program is another option.
