A member asked:

What rehabilitative exercises can be done with an acromioclavicular joint separation?

Physical therapy: There is not enough room here to explain all of the specifics and it really depends on the grade of the separation and the physical condition of the individual. Therefore, an assessment by a physical therapist is really necessary and worth the time and expense, especially if you engage in a lot of sport activities. Otherwise, these generally heal on their own in about six weeks.

Shldr muscle rehab: Acromioclavicular joint separations can be acutely painful. Motion and strengthening of the shoulder girdle muscles can advance as tolerated, usually under the guidance of a physical therapist.
