Home and Formal: Although formal outpatient therapy is usually involved, many motivated patients can do the majority of rehab at home. The first few weeks should concentrate on swelling reduction, including ice and elevation, early knee range of motion, ankle pumps, and quad sets. Using an exercise bike can help with range of motion, lowering the seat will force greater flexion. Closed chained exercises only.
