Swimming good 4 back: Swimming is a great exercise for back pain. It is one of the few traction exercises; at the same time you are pulling with your arms and strengthening you upper body, you may be stretching your lower body and back. It's also one of the complimentary exercises, working muscles that you don't use every day, but that stabilize and work alongside what you use. So yes, swimming is great for your back.
