Yes: If tylenol (acetaminophen) is taken in excess or if there if underlying chronic liver disease, then yes it can cause liver enzymes to go up.

Depends . . .: Excess Acetaminophen (tylenol) can damage the liver, especially in presence of excess alcohol. But how much Acetaminophen can someone w/liver disease handle depends upon how bad is the liver disease. Elevated enzymes indicate damage so don't ignore them, although we typically accept up to 3x upper limit of normal if taking a statin (cholesterol lowering drug). Acetaminophen is found in many produc.
