My 15 year old sister was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. what should she expect to happen next?

I would expect her to be referred to a children's hospital and or medical school where there are specialists that deal with this condition. She will undergo a series of tests followed by a plan of treatment. It will take a while & you will need to be as helpful as you can while your parents work with her team through the process. Outcome is much more hopeful now than it was when I started practice
