Facial nerve palsy: In facial nerve palsy, you need to use frequent artificial tears and ointment to prevent the eye from drying out. The eye should also be kept closed at night while sleeping using either tape or tranquileyes goggles. If the eye develops any epithelial defect or ulcer, you may need to have the eye closed partially temporarily using either sutures or botox.
