Can i take metoprolol er and zoloft (sertraline) together?

With caution: Zoloft (sertraline) can slow down how fast metoprolol clears from your body. As a result the dose may need to be adjusted. Make certain your doctors are aware of all the medications you are prescribed.

Yes, with caution. : I have prescribed them together in patients but there are interactions to be considered and checked. See drugs.Com interactions checker: limited clinical data suggest that ssris may potentiate the pharmacologic effects of some beta-blockers; case reports of bradycardia and hypotension. Possible sri inhibition of 2d6 which clear metoprolol. Paxil (paroxetine) and Prozac are much stronger 2d6 inhibitors.
