You cant...: They are normally viral and must run their course. A dentist can treat them to make them less painful. A laser can be used to make them hurt less. There are also over the counter meds that you can apply topically that accelerate healing and reduce pain such as abreva, zilactin, and oragell.

Ointments: There are several prescription ointments for canker sores that sooth and heal. There is also an ointment called kenalog (triamcinolone) in orabase that acts like an oral bandage to soothe and protect. You should consult your dentist. Should also consider some dietary changes, cutting out acidic food or drinks- tomatoes, oranges, juices. Stress can cause sores too.
