Viral infection? : Probably a viral infection. If she's active, without fever, and playful just wait it out. If she deveolps fever or acts sick, get her checked by her pediatrician.

Viral infection: She may have a viral infection which can last up to 14 days. Also with cough it could be bacterial in nature. Sometimes patients can present only with cough and have asthma as well.
