Go to the dentist: If you ehave somethng bothering you then it is time to seek professional help - go to the dentist. Do not seek an answer on the internet. Such a symptom as you describe could be almost anything including cancer, cyst, infection among many other possibilities. I do not want to scare you, but why do you delay in seeking care? Are you afraid of the dentist? Would you rather suffer? Get smart!

Seek some help: You don't say how long ago you gave up smokeless tobacco but if it is sort of recent...It'll take some time for the effects of that to go away. But if it has been, say a month or longer, go see a dentist or oral surgeon. You may need a biopsy or at least a good look to get an answer.
