To some degree: Brain aneurysms like most conditions have some genetic predisposition. Your physician can take a good family history and assess other risk factors to determine if testing such as mr angiography is indicated to detect them.

Some are: There is a component of genetics with brain aneurysms although most are congenital. If you have two first degree relatives with aneurysms or multiple aneurysms they could be genetic.
