Shortness of breath: Symptoms of collapsed lung is usually difficulty in breathing that is usually quite severe. Symptoms of broken ribs is severe pain and tenderness in ribs that is increasing with inspiration, coughing, sneezing, laughing and moving.

Difficult breathing: Initially chest pain, palpable crepitance- rice crispies in the chest wall, . Later fever, pneumonia, cough along with short of breath. Rib trauma and significant local pain! limited chest wall motion.
