A member asked:

Are teeth always shifting?

Yes: Teeth will continue to shift throughout your life, even if you've never had braces. That's why it's always a good idea to get missing teeth replaced. It will help stabilize things. I also recommend that my adult patients have orthodontic retainers made if they notice shifting of their teeth later in life.

Yes: Nothing in your body stays exactly the same from one day to the next. Teeth will continue to shift due to biting forces, muscle forces, and wear and tear.
