ARTERITIS: More than likely she has temporal arteritis and not temporal arthritis. This is usually treated by rheumatologists or family physicians.

1,2,3: Temporal arteritis can cause blindness or death if untreated. She should: 1. See a rheumatologist 2. Take the Prednisone rx as prescribed 3. Do blood tests as instructed. The condition is definitely treatable.
