Unlikely: Temporal arteritis is unlikely, but not impossible, in a 45 year old. Have the headaches evaluated by your doctor or a neurologist.

Trigeminal Neuralgia: Temporal arteritis is much more common in people older than you and can be diagnosed by an elevated Sed rate (ESR) and sometimes arterial biopsy. If prednisone not started as treatment blindness may ensue. Your symptoms may be caused by trigeminal neuralgia - and the treatment is different. See your doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

See your PCP: Facial pain and headaches have a long list of possible causes but the diagnosis can often be made by a good history, examination, tests and imaging. Remember, proper diagnosis is a key to successful treatment.
