Not much: See a dentist for an evaluation. You may have severe gum disease which caused the tooth to be very loose. Sometimes the crown of the tooth may be loose but the root is solid. Have your dentist take a look.

Loose tooth: It depends on the cause of the loose tooth. It can be because of trauma from an accident or consistent trauma from the opposing tooth. It can be because of him disease. You can always stabilize the tooth by splinting it to other teeth. But first figure out the cause.
